I got a 95% on my Writers Craft ISU! My magazine is my baby. I worked on it since I got it, four months straight! I’m so pleased with my mark its ridiculous. I actually smiled the entire walk home.

There is supposed to be a…Huge. Deadly. Blizzard….Tomorrow. Which is kind of funny because today’s weather was incredibly. Anyways, only uncreative people discuss the weather so moving on.

Courtney has successfully reassured me that I will get into Guelph University, no early acceptance, but I’ll get in. My fingers remain crossed.

Chris is positively adorable! The man is like 6’1, practically a twig, cynical and mocking at times but deep down a total sweetheart. He’s apparently 23, which I refused to believe at first. (I could have sworn he was my age!) And…he has the softest hair in the entire universe, hands down. I finally got it out of him that he uses Head & Shoulders but seriously…I gave up petting his hair after New Years but I’m weak, I can’t resist!

My new semester started today and I have the following:

Global Issues: Interesting so far. We discussed capital punishment and argued for or against it.
West in the World: It was okay. It will be lots of work, very university like.
Sociology: Love. Total ovary fest though. One guy in a class of twenty-seven.

I was supposed to have Law but I skipped it today because I’m dropping it tomorrow.

I’m going to Anime North as Sailor Mercury. Hopefully a bunch of my gal pals are going as Sailor Scouts too. What can I say? I have to fulfill this childhood fantasy of mine.

I went to go see Juno with Niki tonight. I thought it was going to be more comical and hardcore preggo but it ended up being more emotional, which still fitted the movie. I thought it was alright, cute and for the more part realistic. There were so many kids in the theatre though! ...And by kids I mean ‘not your average indie movie’ kids.

I remember the good old days when no one had heard of movie like Amelie, My Life Without Me, Run Lola Run, The Princess and the Warrior and Factory Girl...Okay, so maybe I don’t necessarily mean ‘indie’ movies, hell I don’t like classifying things...Just, ‘movies that aren’t really mainstream but aren’t made in someone’s basement either’.

I’m not a huge fan of fads, that’s all. I don’t really know what’s mainstream and I think it’s too complicated and easy to get mixed up it. Ah, what can you do? I have to work in five hours so I’m outta here.

Here is my obligatory back to school post.

So, I have Writer’s Craft, Philosophy and Religion: Morals and Ethics.

Writer’s craft it interesting, to say the least. I haven’t written anything in a while so this is kind of the kick up the ass that I needed to get back into writing. (I used to write, for those of you who didn’t know.)

Philosophy is also not too shabby. It’s interesting to listen to different philosophers views, although that class really makes you wonder if you’re really existing, really free or if you see things the same as others.

Religion however is not going so well. The first day my teacher- who I’ve had before, very much respect and like- asks us to list what we believe to be morally wrong. I put down things like war and discrimination. Then, the teacher asks us to read them aloud, I kept silent and the list was complied of the following:

War
Same Sex Marriage
Discrimination
Capital Punishment
Euthanasia
Stem cell research
Abortion

I’m not sure of the beliefs of some of you but I believe in circumstance.

Example One: Euthanasia. If someone is in so much pain that they can’t bear to go on and that’s all they can ask of you, then why would you be so cruel to deny them that? I don’t believe that you can justify any killing (unless it’s for food…but I’m a little debatable about that as well) but if someone is in excruciating pain with no chance of getting better, respect their wishes.

Example Two: Stem Cell Research. Getting life from something else. Sure, we’re messing around with mother nature, and might be causing the downfall of humanity but I don’t believe it to be morally wrong. (I’m trying to keep this as short as possible, due to the fact that I am very opinionated and could discuss this for hours.)

Example Three: Abortion. All I have to say is abortion should not be used as contraception, but if you’re a man and you cut off my reproductive choices, I’ll cut off yours. People deserve a choice. (Now some may argue that the child doesn’t actually have a choice but if the mother was raped and that child is going to grow up being hated for something beyond it’s control, is that fair? Didn’t think so.)

Example Four: Discrimination…and same sex marriage. I was flabbergasted when my teacher listed same sex marriage right before he said discrimination. Are you kidding me? He should be shot for being a moral fucking idiot. No, no, I take it back. He may not have that view about same sex marriage, but because I do attend a Catholic school, he is obligated to teach us these things.

So, now some of you may be wondering why such an opinionated little girl attends a Catholic school.

1. It (was, before I moved) the closest high school to me.
2. All of my friends attend there.
3. (Most importantly) I think for myself and although my teachers may tell me one thing, I always take a step back and look at it from another view point and stay true to what I believe in and support. I am very difficult to manipulate and in my opinion religion manipulates, uses and controls those who follow it.

Do I have a problem with those who have faith/believe in God? No, not in any way. I’m just being me.

I went after it with the fly swatter because it creeped me out so much, but then it dropped from the ceiling onto my couch and I screamed like a little girl, beat the shit out of the couch and ran upstairs. There’s a lamp right beside the couch that’s supposed to be turned off but I was too afraid…I feel so defeated but FUCK IT WAS HUGE! *whimpers*

Um…happy news…Kyle is turning twenty tomorrow and fuck I can’t stop thinking about that ugly spider and the possible babies it might be carrying. Waah, what the hell happened to me?? I never used to be afraid of bugs!

Incubus was MOTHER FUCKING AMAZING!
They far surpassed my expectations. You know those bands who, when you listen to them, they sound incredible and all you can think is, ‘this has to suck live because it’s got to take huge lungs to sing like that without a computer to fix it up’, well they totally rocked.
I’ve been in love Incubus for five or six years and this being my first time seeing them live has made me beyond happy. (Brandon managed to keep his shirt on the entire time too.)

Friday night Alex came over ~~after school and never left till the next day~~ and we had a Disney movie marathon. We watched Tarzan, Hercules and Pocahontas. It was decided that Tarzan was by far the best male protagonist because not only was he caring and sweet, he swung from vines and glided on trees but he was completely certain of his feelings for Jane and he was constantly at her side rescuing her and others without complaint…Also Phil Colin’s vocals and the loin cloth gave him bonus points.

Hercules just failed. I mean, he was too unnaturally muscular, unlike Tarzan where his was from daily life. He was a god which made him seem uppity and not to mention he was selfish. All he cared about was Meg and being a god. He was too dumb to realize what he had to do was right in front of him but that may have been because his brain was weighed down by that ugly rug of his.

John Smith was okay but I mean the real Pocahontas wouldn’t have even looked like that. They were in Jamestown ~~which made me so excited because I’m talking about that in history right now.~~ which is higher up in America so the Aboriginals would have had scarring or tattooing on their face to symbolize their tribe, her hair would have been incredibly short and most likely she would have been on the chubby side. And the whole ‘Pocahontas learning English in under a minute’ thing…Do I even need to comment? Even still, there wasn’t a whole bunch of admirable wooing on John’s part. C’mon man, show the girl you really like her!

Don’t get me wrong, I love Disney movies with an unbearable passion. I just like to give my cynical and somewhat witty comments about how Disney gives little girls an unrealistic expectation about love and what to expect from men. Honestly, I think women demand too much from men and vise versa…why do we all expect so much from each other?

Men expect women to be thin, blemish free and perfect hair. Laugh at their jokes no matter if they’re racist, egotistical or just plain stupid. Women expect men to be buff and sexy, constantly be there for them and crave their attention. Both genders run around trying to make each other happy but they fail to realize that if they make themselves happy by being themselves they’ll find someone who really likes them for being them.

Heh, please excuse me, I was in an analytical mood.

Please excuse my horrible five minute Nana cosplay. My hair was damp, I had some black eyeliner, lipstick and a lighter. I couldn’t resist.

Long time no update!

Alright, so let’s pick up where my last lj entry left off…we got back to Canada on the Monday safe and sound then I worked a couple of nine hour shifts in a row before the weekend which brought MTAC! (March Toronto Anime Convention)

Friday after work Alex and her sister Natalie came over and the next morning we met up with Alex’s boyfriend at the train station and headed down to Toronto.

I bought two new mangas, a fan, watched two new animes which were a little strange and met a really cool guy named Logan.

I also congratulate myself on resisting the huge urge to buy Kenshin’s reverse blade. It was only $139.00! ! One hundred thirty-nine dollars that I was willing to spend on a sword yet did not think my parents would appreciate me coming home with a sword that covered more than half my torso and was indeed quite sharp.

I bought a memory card for my camera! Yay! It can now hold 1390 pictures and up to 50 minutes of video footage! ~~I don’t know when exactly I’ll ever take thirteen hundred pictures but hey, it was worth it.~~

Ah, there isn’t anything better than completing a long American history essay that you’ve been dreading and then finishing the night off with cleaning your room and typing up the last bits of your Freud topic proposal.

I’ve been unfortunately quite busy these last few days. American history, world history and sociology have bit by bit been consuming my soul. However, I’m a glutton for punishment and overworking myself so I’m enjoying it.

I handed in my course selection today two days late. For next year I picked sociology, urban geography, religion, English, writers craft, law, world history and something else that I don’t seem to recall at the moment.

I’m going to Virginia on Thursday, something I’ve neglected to mention and seem to have forgotten to pack for. A job for tomorrow I suppose. My dad is going for soccer and once again my mom and I are going along for the sole purpose of shopping.

Alright, I’m off.

Tomorrow is going to be bitchin’. I have to finish all my work that’s due on Thursday for Wednesday because on Thursday Alex is having her English proficiency test downtown so I’m going with her and when she’s finished we’re going to go shopping. I have questions on gender issues, a group assignment on Jean Piagent, an essay on ~~mother fucking~~ Freud, questions about the draft during Vietnam to complete, an annotated bibliography due for my Ellis Island essay, I have to watch Full Metal Jacket and answer two pages of questions, a test on the Paleolithic era and a booklet to complete on Babylonia, Assyria, Chaldea and Persia.

"Yes. It is a Persian name, for I am Persian." Haha! Over the Hedge…

Not to mention Alex is coming over to hang out tomorrow so that gives me about three hours to complete all of the above.

SPOILER WARNING!

I don’t care what anyone says, I’m so ecstatic that Naruto has finally gone off, trained with Jiraiya and has returned. I can’t wait until Sai gets more screen time and let me tell you the second I saw Sasuke I was cracking my knuckles and cursing at the screen. That bastard…

I adore Konohamaru and how much he’s taken after Naruto! The fact that Ebisu is his teacher cracks me up. I couldn’t help but grin when Konohamaru said he was going to be the seventh Hokage, after Naruto.

I’m so happy that Naruto’s voice actor hasn’t changed, but instead she’s altered her voice to make herself sound more mature.

Did anyone else notice that all the background music has changed? Or was that just me…

I thought it was awesome when younger Naruto and older Naruto were comparing heights and younger Naruto was being all giddy and asking if he’d learned any new techniques. Right there you can see Naruto has matured.

It was so cute when Naruto and Sakura saw each other again for the first time and he was taller than her. I just wanted them two to hug or something~. Then when Sakura punched Naruto in the face and Konohamaru and his friends are all hugging Jiraiya in fear!

Shikamaru grew up too! He’s started to look a lot more like his father and Temari’s new outfit is very nice.

Kakashi’s reaction to Naruto’s present was perfect! It’s really boring but I think you’ll like it.” XD

Actually seeing Gaara as Kazekage was friggan awesome! Naruto supporting him being Kazekage made me feel so proud of Naruto!

The build up to Sakura and Naruto fighting Kakashi made me so excited! Even though I’ve read it in the manga months ago, I can’t help it!

Dir en Grey was incredible!

First, waiting in line for five hours was pretty…cold, seeing as we were right beside the lake and it was minus twenty-six degrees Celsius out. I met some really cool people though! Some girls who had flown in from Calgary, Edmonton and Halifax. Daaaamn! And I think for every twenty-five girls there was one guy which made me giggle.
It was far better than anything I could have ever imagined! The two bands that opened for them were pretty good. The second one was kind of odd ‘cause the singer had a bald spot on the side of his head and he kept spitting mucus everywhere which was really disgusting.
Before the band even came on stage the fans were going crazy. Everyone was shoving and pushing which caused the entire crowd to sway back and forth and if one person went down, five went down and then people pushed to take their place not paying attention to the fact that the people were getting trampled underneath. My feet weren’t even touching the ground because I was being lifted up by the weight of people shoving from behind. Some girl was grinding against me during the intro bands to try and get me to move back so her friend could take my spot, it kind of pissed me off but then I was like ‘Fuckit, you want to do that, go ahead, I haven’t been waiting outside since 1:30 for you to take my spot.’
The pure heat from the crowd was suffocating. All you could smell was breath and sweat and the air was so heavy. I thought I was going to pass out a few times. Just before the Diru came out I could feel the bodies moving together again for another body smashing wave, or whatever the hell you want to call it, so I tried to keep my balance but one of the taller guys in front of me lost his footing and fell right on top of me. I could feel the breath being taken out of me and all I could do was reach out as he elbowed me and stepped on me to get up. I could feel my glasses slipping off my face so I grabbed onto them and then clawed onto other people to pull myself up.
After the band finally came out, Larissa and I had been pushed back out of the swarm of people who were madly swaying back and forth trying to get closer to the band which was actually a much better spot to see the band and there was actually space between people. Shinya came out first, his hair was flipped out and looking fluffy and adorable as usual. He had his black gloves on and he just walked right to his drums. Kaoru came out next followed shortly after by Toshiya and Die. Immediately they all turned around until Kyo came marching on stage. The screams of people were unbelievable. Once he started singing it was heaven. When they played Saku, Obscure, Merciless Cult, C and Clever Sleazoid it was incredible! Everyone was jumping up and down and singing along to the music. Then, when Kyo started cutting himself on stage we could only stare as the blood ran down his bare torso. Then he started jumping around onstage and acting like himself. (Which included jumping around on his box, almost running into Die, bleeding everywhere, screaming into the microphone, crying into the microphone, beating the microphone against his chest and dumping a bucket of water on his head that said ‘RAPE ME’.)
The good part was I never lost track of Larissa. If I felt her drifting away I instinctively reached out and grabbed her arm.
We were all sweating and grinning when they finished, talking like mad about all the things we had just seen and experienced. (This is a really good summary of the concert…ignoring the whole ‘I locked eyes with Kyo omg!’ part…)

Man, I was reading posts on Diru communities where girls said stuff like, “Toshiya and I had such a connection, he smiled and winked at me” and “I could feel Kyo’s voice replacing the love I had lost years ago” All I can say to that is…Dude, what the fuck…I love Diru. My love and respect for them has grown even more now that I’ve seen them live but get a fuckin’ life~! Kyo, Die, Toshiya, Shinya and Kaoru do not know who you are! As far as I’m concerned they’re all fucking each other anyway. Heh.

So, tomorrow’s Valentines day…what’s everyone doing? :)
I get to work and since I worked tonight as well I missed my school dance. Hopefully Mike and I are going to see Hannibal Rising this weekend. I’ve been dying (heh, irony) to see that movie since it came out~!

Urgh! I ran out of shampoo so I had to use my brothers and now I smell like a man! Worst. Feeling. Ever.

I almost forgot! I went to Jay’s on Saturday because it was his birthday~! It was pretty fun. I have pictures, but they’ll have to wait.
